Medical Disclaimer
PeptaVive is built by a woman, for women, on a foundation of real research and real experience. I take what I share seriously. I also want you to take this page seriously, because it covers something important.
PeptaVive is not medical advice
PeptaVive is an educational platform. The information, calculators, advisor outputs, articles, illustrations, and AI-generated responses you find here are provided for informational and educational purposes only.
Nothing on PeptaVive is medical advice.
We are not doctors, nurses, pharmacists, registered dietitians, or licensed healthcare providers of any kind. Using PeptaVive does not create a doctor-patient relationship between you and us, and we cannot diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition.
Always talk to your doctor
Before you start, stop, or change anything related to your health — including but not limited to:
- Peptides
- Supplements, vitamins, or herbal products
- Prescription medications
- Over-the-counter medications
- Hormone therapy
- Diet, exercise, or sleep practices
- Any other wellness protocol
…please consult a qualified healthcare provider who knows your personal medical history, current medications, and overall health status.
This is especially important if you are:
- Pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding
- Taking prescription medications
- Managing a chronic condition (heart disease, diabetes, thyroid disease, autoimmune conditions, cancer history, etc.)
- Preparing for or recovering from surgery
- Under the age of 18 (in which case you should not be using PeptaVive — see our Terms of Service)
A note on peptides specifically
Many peptides discussed on PeptaVive are sold legally in the United States only as "research chemicals" or for laboratory use, not as approved drugs for human consumption. The FDA has not evaluated most peptides for safety or efficacy in the general population. Their long-term effects in humans are not fully understood.
We share educational information about peptides because we believe women 50+ deserve access to honest information about their options. We do not prescribe, sell, recommend specific brands, or tell you whether a peptide is right for your body. That conversation belongs between you and a qualified healthcare provider.
If you choose to use peptides, we strongly encourage you to:
- Work with a healthcare provider who is knowledgeable about peptides
- Source from reputable suppliers with third-party testing (Certificates of Analysis)
- Start one peptide at a time so you can identify any reactions
- Listen to your body — pay attention to changes in sleep, skin, mood, energy, or any new symptoms
- Stop and consult your provider if anything feels wrong
Individual results vary — significantly
Every body is different. Age, genetics, hormones, medications, lifestyle, gut health, stress, and dozens of other factors influence how any supplement or peptide affects you. What works beautifully for one person may not work for another, and may even cause harm.
We do not promise specific outcomes. We do not guarantee results. Anything written on PeptaVive about benefits, timelines, or expected effects is based on published research and general patterns — not a prediction about what will happen in your body.
AI-generated content has limits
PeptaVive uses artificial intelligence in several of our tools. AI is powerful but imperfect. AI-generated responses, suggestions, and analyses may:
- Be incomplete or out of date
- Miss important context about your individual health
- Occasionally contain errors
- Reflect general patterns that don't apply to your specific situation
Always treat AI output as a starting point for your own research and conversation with your healthcare provider — never as a final answer or a substitute for professional medical care.
In case of emergency
PeptaVive is not designed for medical emergencies. If you are experiencing a medical emergency — including but not limited to severe allergic reactions, chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, suicidal thoughts, or any other urgent symptoms — call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room immediately.
If you are in crisis and need mental health support in the United States, dial or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Drug interactions and adverse reactions
Some supplements and peptides can interact with prescription medications, including blood thinners, blood pressure medications, hormones, antidepressants, diabetes medications, and many others. Some can also affect lab results, surgical outcomes, or pre-existing conditions.
Our Interaction Checker is an educational tool that flags potential interactions based on available research. It is not a comprehensive substitute for a pharmacist's or physician's review of your specific situation.
If you experience any unexpected symptoms after starting a new supplement or peptide — including but not limited to rashes, swelling, headaches, digestive changes, mood changes, sleep changes, or anything that doesn't feel right — stop use and contact your healthcare provider.
Your responsibility, your body
By using PeptaVive, you acknowledge that:
- You are responsible for your own health decisions
- You will not rely on PeptaVive as your sole source of health information
- You will consult qualified healthcare providers before making changes to your health regimen
- You understand that PeptaVive, Patricia Sharkey, and any affiliates are not liable for outcomes resulting from your use of the information on this site
A personal word
I built PeptaVive because I was tired of a wellness industry that either talks down to women over 50 or pretends we don't exist. I share what I've learned because I think you deserve information that's clear, honest, and built for your stage of life.
But I am one woman with research, lived experience, and an AI thinking partner — not your doctor. Please treat what you read here as the beginning of a conversation, not the end of one. Bring your questions to a qualified provider who can examine you, review your full history, and help you decide what's safe and appropriate for you.
Take care of yourself. You deserve it. 💛
